Virtual Job Tryout
Also called VJT, Capital One virtual job tryout
Capital One's automated pre-interview assessment, roughly 20 to 45 minutes, built from four named modules.
Capital One names this stage directly. It runs 20 to 45 minutes and is assembled from four modules: Manage Relationships, Work Your Business Case, Tell Us Your Story and Describe Your Approach. It sits ahead of the human rounds, and every interview after it is virtual.
The module names are the useful part, because they tell you what is being sampled: a relationship judgement scenario, a light business case, a self-description, and a walkthrough of how you approach a problem.
What it means for you
Two of the four modules are things you will be asked again by a person later. Tell Us Your Story and Describe Your Approach are the written ancestors of the resume walk and the "how would you tackle this" question in the mini case. Whatever you claim here, you have to be able to say out loud afterwards without contradicting yourself.
The business case module is not a full case interview. It is closer to a judgement test: pick the defensible option and be able to say why, rather than build a model.
People fail the human rounds that follow this, not the tryout itself. The mini case and the manager pre-screen are where the offer is decided.
