What happens in each stage›
- Recruiter / phone screen
- Initial contact from the recruiting team after applying; candidates selected to interview typically hear back 'within a couple of weeks.' Light background, motivation, and level-fit conversation.
- Technical assessment (HackerRank)
- Per How We Hire, technical roles 'may be asked to complete a coding exercise, which is usually done using HackerRank on a whiteboard or laptop that we provide.' Closed-book; unapproved tools like ChatGPT cause disqualification.
- Onsite in-person loop
- Required before an offer: 'you will complete an onsite, in-person interview at our office before you can be considered for an offer.' A panel of back-to-back rounds, 'usually 30-60 minutes each,' mixing coding, domain/systems deep-dives, and hiring-manager/team-fit conversations. Round count is team-dependent and not officially published (widely reported as roughly 3-6).
- Domain / systems deep-dive
- The domain-gated round. Content varies sharply by team: GPU driver/kernel, CUDA/parallel computing, compilers, OS/systems, deep-learning frameworks, or embedded/robotics. For senior roles becomes system design.
- Insider Chat (optional, non-evaluative)
- During the final stage, an optional ~15-minute chat with a Community Resource Group member. NVIDIA states it 'doesn't influence hiring decisions.' Should not be scored.
