What happens in each stage›

Application review: Resume and often a cover letter; campus applications are tied to a specific office. Bain: "our team will review your application."
Recruiter / HR call (may occur): Bain's own language is conditional: "you might have a call with a recruiter." Not universal; sometimes replaced by an event or coffee chat.
Online assessment (office-variable): An online screen is well corroborated and maps to Bain's "online assessments" / "a fun challenge to work through." The specific vendor/product is NOT confirmed and varies by market.
First-round interviews: Typically two ~45-minute interviews, each combining a short experience/fit segment with a case, conducted by consultants and managers. Count is candidate-reported and office-variable.
Final round: Typically 2-3 interviews with more senior interviewers (managers, principals, partners), same structure (experience segment + case). Some offices add a written or group case. Count is candidate-reported.
